manifesto

I believe in simple, powerful design, that communicates, inspires and educates. With these values in mind I strive to create a delicate balance between information, communication, and elegance. When this occurs, design represents a tremendous tool for fostering learning, conversations and change. As such, I am passionate about using it as a tool for good, bringing great design to businesses, communities, and individuals that need it most. This is not a Saturday afternoon hobby but the ethical starting point of every aspect of my design work and daily life.

three things you should know

1
one
Growing up in the in rural mountains of Virginia I spent my time in treehouses, at the pond, and shooting bb guns. This simple upbringing serves as the spirit of my design.
2
two
Whether I'm riding to the corner store, a five-hour training ride, on pavement or dirt, I'm always happiest on two wheels.
3
three
What designer doesn't drink a lot of coffee? Chemex, French Press, or iced... it's all delicious. I can always be won over with a strong cup.

Background

I am a designer, photographer and Camp Firebelly alumni currently living and working in Portland, Oregon. With experience working in small design studios, in-house, and larger agencies, I currently work with a variety of like-minded clients and studios on print, web, and branding projects. Throughout the years I have been heavily involved with AIGA, most recently serving as a mentor in the AIGA Chicago chapter. Outside of design, I also enjoy home cooked meals, quality cocktails, and my retired racing greyhound, Juniper.
